Virtual bank accounts (VBAs) on Copperx allow you to receive international payments directly via a dedicated bank account number, with funds automatically settled into your Copperx wallet. However, not every user is automatically approved for a VBA. This article explains why VBA requests are sometimes rejected and what you can do about it.
Who Decides on VBA Approvals?
Virtual bank account requests are reviewed and approved (or rejected) by Copperx’s regulated banking partners, not by Copperx directly. While we submit your application and facilitate the process, the final decision rests with these partners based on their own compliance and risk criteria.
Why Was My VBA Request Rejected?
VBA rejections are issued on compliance and security grounds. Common factors include:
Your country of residence or business is not supported for VBA issuance.
Your overall risk profile, as assessed by the partner, did not meet their internal thresholds.
The intended use case was flagged as outside acceptable parameters under their terms and conditions.
Your account has not completed all required KYC/KYB or other compliance steps.
Because these decisions are made by our banking partners using proprietary risk models, we are not able to share a detailed, case‑by‑case reason for the rejection, and we cannot manually approve or override their decision.
What Should I Do Next?
You can go through the following checks to see if another attempt may be possible:
Confirm that your KYC/KYB is fully complete and approved.
Incomplete or pending verification can sometimes trigger a rejection at the VBA stage.Check that your country is supported.

Using supported off‑ramp options to withdraw funds to your local bank account or mobile wallet, where available.
