Individual vs. Business Account — Which Is Right for Me?

Kosh offers two types of accounts — one for individuals and one for businesses. Choosing the right one from the start ensures you go through the correct verification process and get access to the features that are relevant to you.

Choose an individual account if you are:

  • A freelancer or independent contractor receiving payments from clients abroad

  • A remote worker getting paid in USD or another foreign currency

  • An individual looking to convert stablecoins to local currency and withdraw to your personal bank account

  • Someone who wants to use the Kosh Personal Card for everyday spending

Individual accounts go through a KYC (Know Your Customer) verification process. You will need a government-issued ID, address proof, and a liveness check (selfie). Verification typically takes 1–2 business days.

Choose a business account if you are:

  • A registered company, startup, incorporated entity, or sole proprietorship

  • A business that needs to pay employees, contractors, or vendors across multiple countries

  • An organisation managing multi-currency treasury or cross-border payroll

  • A business that wants to use the Kosh Corporate Card for team spending

Business accounts go through a KYB (Know Your Business) verification process. You will need your company incorporation documents, director details, beneficial ownership information, and proof of business activity. Verification typically takes 1–3 business days depending on your region and the features you have requested.

Not sure which applies to you?

As a general rule:

  • If you are transacting in a personal capacity → choose individual

  • If you are transacting on behalf of a registered legal entity (including a sole proprietorship) → choose business
